Haul of the Day

Ben 10

Still have not got BenMummy. Only saw it at TRU, but no discounts.

HCM Pro

This 3-pack was previously retailing for S$99. They were finally on sale at the Takashimaya 12th (not so) Crazy Toy Sale. Luckily I held out on this purchase, since 2006, when it was just released. What I like about this set is the Ackguy. These 3 figures (actually 2) were released separately, albeit with a slightly different colour scheme. They were the first few figures in the HCM Pro series.

Singapore Toy and Comics Convention 2008 - Thoughts

In general, the convention was a minor disappointment to me. There were few new items that was displayed. Basically, it did not live up to the hype or expectations.

For example, the Medicom booth only showcased Son GoKu and a few other soon to be released 1/6th RAH, a few bearbricks and some fuzzy cat. The display was quite pathetic though. But a close up look of Son GoKu made me want to get him more, though the material for the clothing was not up to standard.

The Bandai also showed old stuff, and limited only to Saint Seiya, Gundam kits, SOC, SIC and surprisingly Ben10.

Hasbro only concentrated on Wizards and Clone Wars, and the Star Wars display was decent only.

The Clone Wars figures are great looking !

Guess the number of clones !

Stikfas customs.

I did not take any more pictures as there was nothing much worth capturing.

But it was a good attempt to organize such a major event, and get so many participants, local and overseas. It is a good step in the right direction, and hopefully we will have another one next year.

Do show your support by attending the convention !

Depending on time, I may go down again to see if I am able to pickup one of the exclusive bearbricks.

Music Recommendation - Jimmy Coup

While searching for the singer of the Ben10 live action movie Race Against Time theme,

I stumble onto Jimmy Coup's Don't Believe a Word song.

But not sure if they are the same singers though.

Haul of the Day

The Great Singapore Sale officially started on May 23, 2008. My damage for the second day of the sale.

Transformers Animated
The department stores are stocking up on these figures after the success of the movie franchise.

Activators are much welcomed series. It has good articulations and great sculpt for a great price.

Wave 1 Deluxe figures.

Wave 1 Voyagers, missing Megatron due to a glitch. :(

Deluxe DVD boxset, exclusive to Takashimaya for now.

Transformers Movie

With 20% discounts and a further 10% after the discounted price, I could not resist.
But I am putting off Jazz, Brawl and Barricade, for now.

Spider-Man Movie Trilogy

Sadly, out of desperation to get the Venom figure, I picked up the last one on the rack that is blind (bad paint chip) in one eye. :(
But the Trilogy series, though are all rehashes, gives other collectors who missed out previously on the other movie series, as well as other Spider-man series like classics.

Incredible Hulk movie

I know I said I will never be picking up this line, but this figure, the most articulated in the series, was decent enough not to resist.

Ben 10

Had been wanting to get this figure since the first time I saw it at Carrefour a few years back, before the cartoon became popular. Heatblast is the most articulated figure of the whole series.

Konami AM Driver

A failed series by Konami in Japan and overseas, that they had to mark down the price so much, and still not selling.
Actually this series is not bad, but not sure why people just do not buy in. The anime was horrible though.

Haul of the Week

Stuff I got during a weekend over at Malaysia.

The Batman

Not sure who is this character, because I missed out most of the episodes after season 1.

Marvel Legends Spider-Man Movie BAF

The only figure I wanted from this series was Venom, but the TRU only had these 2, a normal (rehash) super articulated Spider-man from the second movie, (re-hash) Doc Ock with bendy arms from the second movie and a black Spider-man package. Yes, package. The figure was missing. This series never made it to retail locally.

Last Order comic #9 exclusive Gally

My instincts told me that I should be able to find this figure at Kinokuniya, and I was right. Attempts to get this figure from Japan via the usual channels and the local Kinokuniya turned out in vain.

Malaysia boleh !!

Ryukendo

I just love monkeys. This is a repaint and retool figure of the previous one, with added chromed parts.

Transformers Movie

Got these magnet heads. I have yet to determine if these are 1/6th scale.
If they fit, might just kitbash something.

Thanks to my sister, who helped me secure these 2 pieces from Metro.

Transformers Henkei

Kudos to TakaraTomy to give us a purple Astrotrain, as opposed to the white version from Hasbro. Checkout pictures here by shaun.

Ben 10

Battle pose Ghost Freak. This figure is better than the first one.

Revoltech

The Kuro comes with new facial expressions.

Comics

Thing vs Hulk with art by Jae Lee (cheap sale !), and 30 Days of Nights: Beyond Barrow with art by Bill Sienkiewicz.

Ben10 Collection

Influenced by my nephew, I started to watch the cartoon and collect the basic figures.

The original 10 Omnitrix Aliens

The new Omnitrix Aliens (after season 1)

The Heroes

The Villians

The latest action figures are retools of existing ones, and laid out in "battle poses". Replacing the lenticular card and animation discs are a trading card with a hidden code that can be deciphered using the display base.

It's Hero Time !!!

Haul of the Week - 12 Aug 2007

This was a tough week, and I mean tough on the wallet, with the arrival of the Transformers Encore series and more Transformers Movie merchandise at TFH.

Takaratomy Transformers Encore series

Takaratomy Transformers Movie Basic Ratchet/Megatron/Blackout, Real Gear Booster X10/High Score 100/Meantime, Voyager Megatron and Deluxe Bumblebee 08/Arcee

Daiblock Convoy

And lastly, some stuff I picked up at OG (20% off) while shopping for my nephew's birthday (today) present: Bandai Ben10 Delxue Kevin 11 (his present), Hasbro Star Wars VOTC IG-88/Bossk and Bandai MachineRobo Mugenbine Razorninja.
